Engineers inspired by nature can solve many problems. Starting from learning from ants and bees to develop new algorithms, adopting micro-organisms' world in pattern recognation and transforming the internet data center to a green ICT center. All will be discussed in the following guest lecture session.

Who is the guest lecturer?
Prof. Dr. Saman Halgamuge is the Assistant Dean (International) of Melbourne School of Engineering. He is an academic staff member of the Dept. Mechanical Eng. and a member of the school wide initiative on Biomedical Engineering. He is a co-author of over 200 research papers, 8 books and 15 book chapters. He serves on the editorial boards of 6 journals including ACTA journal on Control and Intelligent systems, Springer Journal on Soft Computing and BMC Bioinformatics. Dr. Halgamuge has conducted international consultancies for UNDP and was an expert technical adviser to the Australian government Department of Health and Ageing.
