Trouvailles is an event brought by Internal Relation Division of Himpunan Mahasiswa Matematika Universitas Pelita Harapan (HMM-UPH) as the last appreciation for students batch 2013 of Mathematics major of Universitas Pelita Harapan. Trouvailles was held on November 18, 2017 from 5.30 p.m. to 09.00 p.m. at Building C402-403, Universitas Pelita Harapan and was enlivened by 69 attendees from batch 2013 until 2017 and the Head of Mathematics Program, Kie Van Ivanky Saputra, Ph.D. The theme of this event was 'Dream Land', as shown by the whole committees wearing onesies as the dress code. For this event, the committees provide three types of photo booths with three different themes. The first one was an Indian Tent, followed by an Origami Curtain and last but not least was Polaroid Frame. Each participant was given a coupon to be redeemed for their printed pictures in the photo booth.
This event was hosted by the talented Katrin Revina and Sergius Tadao Hayashi from batch 2015, who opened the event with an ice breaking games, followed by a opening prayer and speeches by Mr. Kie Van Ivanky Saputra, Ph.D. as the Head of Mathematics Program, Regina Clara Widjaya as the Head of HMM-UPH, and Jessica Novia Sadeli as the Head of Organizing Committee. The event was continued by a testimony from Alti Asri Zaenabi La Diba Disan, who gave her impressions and message, as well as encouragement for the juniors to continue pursuing their dreams. That touching moment was enhanced with a video that was specially made by the committees and another one from Yuwono Chaiyadi, the only mentor for batch 2013 students. Before the dinner time, all of the attendees played several games with Mr. Ivanky.
Dinner time was accompanied by live music performed by students from batch 2016 and 2017. There was also a photo session for each batch with our Head of Department. After the dinner time, the event was continued with awarding time for batch 2013 with four categories. The title ‘Penny Pincher’ and ‘Angry Bird’ were given to Iswandi, the title ‘Sleeping Beauty’ and ‘Lolzz’ was given to Probo Susanto, and the title ‘Rich Kidoz’ was given to Jennila Febiani Reredy.
As the peak event, the committees and attendees gathered in the soccer field to fly the lanterns that had been affixed with their wishes. The hosts then guided the attendees to make a circle while holding hands. Trouvailles was closed with a prayer and ended with everyone shouting ‘dreams hold us all’ as Trouvailles’s tagline for the entire event.
Through this event, we hope that all attendees will always hold on to their dreams and pursue them despite the challenges they will face. We also hope that they could get to know each other more to tightened the relationship between Mathies family in accordance with the vision and mission of HMM-UPH.
