Designed with the students in mind, the curriculum in UPH Biology department emphasizes on strong theoretical and practical skills in Biotechnology. The program will empower the students with problem solving skills necessary to address issues pertaining to today's health, food and environmental industries, as well as creating innovative products in related areas. 
 
Biotechnology course in UPH is a 4-year undergraduate degree program. In the first two years, students will learn the basics of biochemistry, biology, microbiology and molecular biology. Third year students will learn DNA technology and its application before concentrating on internships and final projects in their final year. The program has two concentrations: Biotechnology in Health Sciences and Industrial Biotechnology. Health sciences program enables students to apply their skills in medical and health industries, while industrial biotechnology program prepares students for a career path in biotechnology food industry, or as environmental scientists. 
 
The four-year Bachelor of Art program covers a wide range of subjects which are designed to help students develop their skills and mature their thinking progressively.
 
The curriculum is developed according to the educational policy of the department which encourages students to develop their own personal style in design. 
 
On the final year of your study, you will be required to serve an internship period on the seventh semester that is necessary to get you acquainted with the workings of the professional world and build relationships and networks that will prepare you to enter the industry upon graduation.
