On Thursday, 10 October 2013, Mathematics @ UPH welcomed the Society of Actuaries of Indonesia. This organization is a national organization, formed by Actuaries in Indonesia around 1964. In Indonesia, this organization is called PAI that stands for Persatuan Aktuaris Indonesia. Since March 2007, PAI has been a member of International Actuarial Association (IAA). 

PAI came to Mathematics @ UPH to discuss future collaboration between both parties. PAI that represents industries is seeking potential employers to work as actuaries while Mathematics @ UPH that represents academic community is developing more and more actuaries to be work at industry. Given that both parties have the same goal, PAI and Mathematics @ UPH decide to work together in developing 1000 actuaries as a part of government project (http://finansial.bisnis.com/read/20130709/215/149752/bisnis-asuransi-ojk-canangkan-cetak-1000-aktuaris). 

Potential collaboration include :

(1) the recognition of lectures in Mathematics @ UPH,

(2) introduction of actuaries to high schools and non mathematicians

(3) development of actuaries students and lecturers, 

(4) student internship in actuarial companies, and

(5) final project topic for final year students.
